Hiromi told me to update more, so I will try. Today I woke up at 8:00am but got up at 8:20. I live next to the River, so it is always freezing when I wake up. I could hear the wind today. I ate breakfast with Okaasan: ice burg lettuce, a mound of corn (hard to eat with chopsticks), two slices of ham, strawberries, a piece of toast with dark chocolate peanut butter and bananas, and a small roll. I try and eat everything Okaasan gives me. I think she loves me now that she thinks I'm not picky. CONSEQUENCE: will gain weight.
We watched tv for a while, and talked about Robots in Japan. Japan seriously do make amazing robots that do all kinds of things, like feed disabled people or the elderly (which Okaasan chuckled at when she saw). Robots even replace people's jobs at times. What would Marx say? "Aah, of course." We watched a Hana Yori Dango repeat!

Check out Mastujun. She knows I'm in love with him by now. :D
After wards, I studied Kanji until it was time for me to leave for Sophia University Orientation before we start classes on the 11th.

Okaasan gave me strawberry pocky before going food shopping. I took this chance to take pictures of my house. It's three floors, so here are pictures of the first floor.

This is the living room. In front of the tv is this "kotatsu," the table with the heated element. Many a time someone watching tv with their legs until here will fall asleep.
It's that comfortable.
Here's the table where we eat, which is also heated under neath. My legs are very happy, but sort of too long for the table. I need to lay them out straight in front of me or my legs will burn. Often times, I accidentally play footsie with my neighbor. My bad.

This is the kitchen. Sort of small, but it has an awesome bar-type window. See next pic.

I always clean the dishes. Okaasan loves me, I swear. 喜んで洗って上げますよ。

This is the 玄関(げんかん) were you must leave your shows or offend the Japanese people. If you are a visitor, it is traditional to say おじゃまします OR しつれいします。 They are ritualistic expressions, but literally mean something along the lines of "I'm becoming a burden/(I'm sorry) for intruding." I would have to guess.

I made it to school on time for the very long Sophia University orientation. They threw lots of materials and information at us at once. Just look at this swag bag. (It is heavy.)
Afterward, we recieved reimbursement for our transportation to orientation related events. Transportation is EXPENSIVE, so I was glad. We also received money to get our commuter passes, so I do not have to pay to get to school anymore. The upper class men (先輩) took us to the station to fill out the forms, though they were not that much of a help. They were very helpful in other ways though! :D One of them gave me their phone number so I can call if I every have any trouble, or am in dire need of some help. For example: I missed my last train home and need to know the nearest karaoke bar to sleep in. (Apparently, they have special prices for the hours 12am to 5am~ 10 bucks to basically sleep there if you need to.)

This is my commuter pass. It allows you to travel from your home station to school for no additional charge. You can also travel anywhere along the way for free, and if you are going somewhere not on the route, you need only pay the difference. I was worried because the route I take did not have ANY fun places, but the man at the station changed my route after talking for him a bit. With this new route, I go through Shibuya, A VERY FUN PLACE GOOGLE IT. This means I can go to Shibuya for freeeee! I took this route home today, and it was fine, it took about the same amount of time to get home.
I tried to get a haircut, but didn't want to wait an hour for an opening, so I bought a banana chocolate crunch crepe instead (late lunch?). I went home and had dinner with Okaasan, and decided to write a long entry. Now, I think I will study more kanji for tomorrow's test. Wish me luck. T_T
